It’s that simple

From sample to certificate of analysis in four steps

  1. Create the sample

Record batch, material and origin. Sample number and label with QR code are created automatically.

  2. Check in at the lab

Scan the label – status “in progress” with timestamp. Print raw data sheets individually or in batches.

  3. Enter results

LABsBOOK shows immediately while you type whether a value fits – including a plausibility check.

  4. Complete & release

Set the batch to released or blocked – the certificate of analysis is created automatically as a PDF.

Features

Everything a modern lab journal needs

From sample receipt to certificate of analysis – clear, traceable and shown with real screenshots from LABsBOOK 2.0.

The journal: all samples, statuses and timestamps at a glance

Two independent statuses per sample show immediately where the sample stands – and how the test results turned out.

  • Lab status: registered · in progress · completed – with timestamp
  • Test result status: acceptance, deviation, rejection plus release (released/blocked)
  • Status per lab in the info box: label and raw data sheet printed, master data errors
  • Search, filter, PDF export, automatic refresh

Result entry with limit traffic light and control chart

Enter measured values – LABsBOOK evaluates them instantly, colours the limit bar and warns about implausible values.

  • Green, yellow, red: acceptance, deviation, rejection in real time
  • Control chart / trend: the last 10 results per characteristic with warning and release limits
  • Plausibility check catches e.g. transposed digits
  • Edit test scope: add characteristics for one order or for the whole test plan
Result entry with coloured limit bars for acceptance, deviation and rejection
Control chart with trend and limit lines
NEW

Labels, raw data sheets and result sheet – printed automatically

Sample data lands precisely on your own PDF form – or LABsBOOK generates the result sheet for you.

  • Batch printing: all open raw data sheets in one print job, a counter shows open sheets
  • Result sheet: automatically generated form with characteristic, method, specification and remark
  • QR labels per lab with their own size and layout
  • Certificate of analysis with versions, test equipment sheet and e-mail dispatch
Dialog Print raw data sheets showing the number of open sheets per lab
Automatically generated result sheet with QR code

Batch cockpit and mobile web apps

Plants and clients can see the status, test values and release of their batches at any time – on the desktop and on the smartphone.

  • Retrieve the certificate of analysis and label straight from the cockpit
  • QR scan: check in samples and assign test equipment by camera
  • Create samples from the plant – directly by smartphone
  • Web apps are installed via a link, no app store needed

Statistics that make decisions easier

Evaluate results, limits and turnaround times – without manual Excel work.

  • Limit value analysis with a ranking of the most critical characteristics and optimisation suggestions
  • Balance: acceptance, deviation, rejection per characteristic, sample and plant
  • Processing time: delivery, processing, total duration – weekly and monthly
  • Export as PDF and CSV for Excel

Test equipment under control

Manage, monitor and assign instruments, reagents and solutions to the sample – so it stays traceable what was used for testing.

  • Shelf life and re-verification as traffic-light tiles: ready for use or expired
  • Assignment to the sample, also by QR scan of the equipment labels
  • Test equipment sheet optionally attached to the certificate of analysis

Quality & traceability

GLP, DIN-ISO and ISO 17025 in view

LABsBOOK was developed by practitioners who work to these standards themselves. The functions support seamless documentation.

Audit trail

Changes after the first completion are logged: time, user, field, old and new value – with audit PDF.

Timestamps

Creation, lab receipt and completion of every sample are documented with date and time.

Evaluation & release

Automatic evaluation plus a manual release decision (released/blocked) with optional justification.

Versioned certificates

If a test order is completed again, a new version is created – nothing is overwritten.

Roles & permissions

Four roles (betrieb, labor, master, admin) control who may see and change what.

Versioned test plans

Limits and characteristics are stored per material and test type in versioned test plans.

LABsBOOK supports your documentation and traceability requirements. Your lab’s conformity with GLP, DIN-ISO or ISO 17025 is assessed by you and your auditors.

Flexible deployment

LABsBOOK is provided individually according to your technical requirements – and can be connected to SAP if needed.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is a quick LIMS?

A quick LIMS is a laboratory information and management system that is ready to use without a long project phase and adapts to your workflows. LABsBOOK covers sample tracking, result entry with limit checks, release and certificates of analysis.

How quickly is LABsBOOK ready to use?

LABsBOOK is set up in five steps: users and roles, company and labs, master data (fastest with Turbo master data), test plans and raw data sheets, test sample. There is no long implementation phase.

Do I have to install software on the workstations?

No. LABsBOOK runs in the web browser. It is provided once on a local PC, a Linux server or with a hosting provider. The mobile web apps are installed via a link.

Can I keep using my existing forms and number ranges?

Yes. LABsBOOK prints the sample data precisely onto your existing PDF raw data sheets and fits into your number ranges and structures. Alternatively it generates a result sheet automatically.

Is LABsBOOK suitable for GLP, DIN-ISO and ISO 17025?

LABsBOOK was developed by lab managers with experience in GLP, DIN-ISO and ISO 17025. Audit trail, timestamps, versioned certificates of analysis as well as roles and permissions support the required traceability.

Is there a connection to SAP?

Optionally yes (SAP/SAP HANA, SDI interface): when a test order is completed, LABsBOOK writes a file for the superordinate system. Fields, order and target path are configurable.

Which languages and what kind of support?

The interface and manual are available in Deutsch, English and Srpski. Support is provided entirely online.
